Houston Boychoir Wardrobe Policies
Houston Boychoir seeks to establish a professional appearance by presenting a uniform whole. Our audience’s first impression is of the Choir’s overall appearance, and a lack of uniformity takes away from the boys’ performance. Accordingly, each choir has a designated formal concert dress uniform described in its choir's Wardrobe Guidelines.

Jewelry is not part of the Houston Boychoir uniform. This means no necklaces (that are visible), bracelets, wristbands, or watches should be worn during performances or photographs unless instructed to do so.

Hairstyles must be kept neat and above the eyebrows and/or out of a boy’s eyes. Directors’ reserve the right to request hairstyle adjustment/cuts to align with the policies of Houston Boychoir.
The Wardrobe Committee holds inspections to review the overall appearance and uniformity of the choirs at the beginning of each season. Parents will be notified when uniform adjustments need to be made. Parents must make these adjustments before the next performance or a boy’s performance privileges may be at risk.
Preparatory Choir Wardrobe Information

Gray pants and blue shirts must be purchased at Land's End for uniformity. Limited items are available to rent from Houston Boychoir.
Formal Uniform

Gray Plain Front Dress Pants– hemmed so that the pant leg is 1” from the floor when measuring from the back (and wearing black penny loafers and belt) (Lands’ End only)

Blue Long Sleeve Solid Oxford Dress Shirt (cotton/polyester blend) (Lands’ End only)

Tie (provided by HBC -- lost tie fee is $20)

Black leather belt, smooth with shiny, silver buckle

Black crew socks (i.e., not low cut or ankle length)

Traditional black leather penny loafers, smooth, solid color with black stitching (no ornamentation)
