About Fort Bend Boys Choir
The Fort Bend Boys Choir of Texas, Inc. was founded in 1982 by William R. Adams , Founder & Artistic Director of the choir with 45 initial members. Located in greater Houston, TX, the organization has now grown into five performing ensembles with 200 choristers. The members are selected from the local area by audition and enter either the Training, Town or Tour choir. Membership is open to boys whose voices have not yet changed.
The choir was organized to give boys in the Houston area with special musical abilities and interests an opportunity to perform more challenging choral literature from classical selections to folk music. The group combines the freshness and enthusiasm of childhood with artistic maturity, something that can only be achieved through serious work. Boyish energy is channeled into dedication to excel, team effort and hard work. For other children, the boys serve as models of purposeful work and high achievement. For adults, they are inspirational reminders of human possibilities. Learn more.

About Texas Boys Choir
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the internationally renowned Texas Boys Choir (TBC), honoring eight decades of transforming young artists, education, and choral achievements. TBC plans to commemorate its legacy with a full calendar of concerts and extraordinary events that begin this fall. The choir is preparing for a year of celebration that honors its past and its present and inspires its future.
Texas Boys Choir is one of the oldest continuously operating boy choirs in the United States. It was founded in 1946 in Denton, TX as the Denton Civic Boys Choir. In 1957, the choir moved to Fort Worth to expand its reach and establish Texas Boys Choir School. The integration of school and choir allowed boys to rehearse twice daily while continuing their academic studies, even while touring the globe. Through the years, TBC’s reach grew rapidly, earning recognitions for its artistry and discipline.
Since 1946, the choir has performed in more than eighteen countries and received two GRAMMY Awards for Best Choral Performance (Other Than Opera), in 1966 and 1968. During this same time, TBC was also honored with three George Washington Honor Medals and a Bronze Award from the International Film and Television Festival. The choir has performed for popes, presidents, religious leaders, monarchs, and dignitaries from around the world, collaborating with legendary musicians such as Igor Stravinsky and Van Cliburn. One of the choir’s most historic moments came on November 22, 1963, when they performed for President John F. Kennedy in Fort Worth. With each of their impressive performances, they cemented their reputation as a cultural ambassador and world-class ensemble. Learn more.
