My Story
Ileana Desalos oversees the day-to-day functions of the Houston Boychoir, ensuring everything runs smoothly for the music directors, administrative staff, and the amazing HBC families, helping our young performers shine. Her passion for music and commitment to nurturing the talents of young musicians is what brought her to HBC.

Before joining the HBC, Ileana dedicated countless hours to community volunteering. One of her most significant achievements was spearheading and managing the grassroots effort that renovated Jaycee Park
in the Heights/Timbergrove.

When she's not conducting the operations at the Houston Boychoir, she's a devoted mother to two incredibly talented daughters. Her eldest daughter, Adriana, is a pre-med sophomore at the University of Texas at Austin. The youngest, Mia, is a senior jazz bassist at the prestigious Kinder High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA). Mia recently performed at the Monterey Jazz Festival in California and in New York City at Herbie Hancock’s International Jazz Competition Gala.

In her free time, Ileana enjoys time with friends, going to listen to local musicians, gardening, discovering new restaurants and visiting parks.
