My Story
Dera was first introduced to Houston Boychoir over 30 years ago when her brothers joined the program. Since then, the choir has remained a meaningful part of her life and family. Today, she’s proud to have two sons currently singing with the choir, continuing the tradition into the next generation. With a strong background in education and a passion for music and youth development, she brings both personal experience and professional insight to her work with HBC. Her commitment to nurturing young voices is rooted in a deep appreciation for the transformative power of music and community.
