Houston Boychoir builds men of character through music. Since 1962, HBC has set the level of excellence for artistic achievement and educational outcomes in children’s performing ensembles. Houston Boychoir is the only program of its kind to reach out to the population of the inner city and the outlying regions, melding the unique aspects of both constituents.

Houston Boychoir’s multi-tiered program cares for boys' development from childhood to manhood. It is a place where boys create lifelong friendships and a sense of community. Auditions are held throughout the year for all boys with unchanged voices, ages 8 to 14, who demonstrate willingness to learn, vocal talent and musical aptitude. The musical repertoire is widely varied and draws on literature from all styles, languages and periods of music history. Through the mastery and public performance of their music, boys develop discipline, confidence and a loving understanding of art.

We believe every boy who wants music in his life should have access to it. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, supported by our community and Houston Boychoir family members. Scholarships subsidize much of the education and no boy is turned away because of an inability to pay for tuition.
